Empowering Night School Students

This initiative is designed to uplift students who attend school during evening hours, often balancing their education with work and family responsibilities.

Masoom has been working since 2008 to improve the quality of education in night schools through a holistic approach that includes infrastructure development, capacity building for educators and stakeholders, student guidance, and advocacy. In March 2025, Equirus Securities proudly supported Masoom in distributing essential educational materials to 14 night schools across Mumbai, directly benefiting hundreds of students from underserved communities.

The objective of this initiative was to create a more supportive and effective learning environment by providing students with the tools they need to succeed. Many night school students come from economically disadvantaged backgrounds and lack access to basic educational resources. By supplying textbooks, notebooks, and science practical kits, we aimed to bridge this gap and help students engage more meaningfully with their studies.

Through this collaboration, the following materials were distributed:

• 176 textbooks for Grade 9, offering structured curriculum support.

• 223 textbooks for Grade 10, helping students prepare for critical board exams.

• 247 science practical kits, encouraging hands-on learning and experimentation.

• 9,282 notebooks, enabling students to complete assignments, take notes, and revise effectively.

The impact of this initiative has been both measurable and meaningful. Teachers and school administrators have reported a noticeable improvement in student attendance and classroom participation. With access to proper learning materials, students are more confident, motivated, and better equipped to perform academically.

The financial relief provided to families has also been significant, reducing the burden of purchasing school supplies and allowing students to focus on their education.

Most importantly, this support has sparked a renewed sense of aspiration among students. Many are now expressing interest in pursuing higher education and vocational training, an encouraging sign of long-term transformation.

Creating Opportunities Through Skill Development: Dahisar Skill Centre Update

At Equirus, we believe that sustainable development begins with empowering individuals through education and skill-building. As part of our CSR commitment to inclusive growth, we partnered with Masoom to support the establishment of the Dahisar Skill Centre, a space dedicated to equipping youth and women from underserved communities with practical, income-generating skills.

The funding from Equirus Securities Private Limited, the Dahisar Skill Centre was successfully set up with all the essential infrastructure required to begin operations.

This contribution enabled Masoom to:

• Procure five tailoring machines, providing hands-on training opportunities for aspiring entrepreneurs and job seekers.

• Complete painting and refurbishment work across the centre, creating a welcoming and professional learning environment.

• Install electrical and electronic equipment, ensuring the centre is fully functional and safe for daily use.

• Set up furniture and basic infrastructure, allowing for smooth delivery of training sessions and workshops.

• This foundational support played a critical role in launching the centre and making it operational for the community. All related documentation, including photographs and bills, has been shared for transparency and accountability.

Impact on Beneficiaries: The Dahisar Skill Centre is already making a meaningful difference in the lives of its participants. The impact of Equirus’ support extends far beyond infrastructure; it is shaping futures:

• Higher Income Stability: Graduates of the program, especially those who start their own tailoring businesses, are seeing income increases of up to 1.5 times, helping reduce financial stress and improve household stability.

• Empowerment Through Skills: Participants gain not only technical know-how but also confidence, resilience, and leadership abilities, enabling them to take control of their economic futures.

• Community Ecosystem Building: The centre fosters peer networks and mentorship, creating a sustainable pipeline of micro-entrepreneurs who support and uplift one another.
